Additional Notes and Information:
I currently licensed as an adult foster provider for a female with the diagnosis of Developmental Disabilities. I have worked in human services for 18 years starting with children and adolescents and have, over the last 9 years, worked with adults with physical and developmental disabilities. I enjoy what I do for a living and am looking to be able to open my home to a woman to help her develop the skills she will need to be more independent so she can have a more purposeful life. This individual would have her own bedroom that is already furnished and share common areas with myself, my 5 year old daughter and two cats. There is a nice size yard with a garden in a fairly quiet neighborhood in St. Paul. My home is multi-level so she will need to be able to maneuver the stairs. I am looking for a female who will respect established boundaries, is not destructive in any way and can respect my home and belongings, is not physically or verbally aggressive and will not harm my daughter or family pets. We would like to share our home with someone who wants to be here, wants to learn how to be more independent, wants to be a part of our home and will contribute to making our home and family better. If you know anyone who is looking to have their family member or the person whom they are guardian be more independent with the support system to help her, please let me know.
