Wakeman home is one side of a duplex shared with the MSOCS Little Crow Site. The home is located in Hutchinson. The side with the vacancy is known as the Wakeman site and is on the south side of the duplex.
The available bed is in the lower level of the home and currently is unfinished. When finished it will have one bedroom and a bathroom. This space if very small and ceilings are very low.
The upper level site currently houses one individual which is supported by his own staff. The two sites will share some of the upper level, such as the kitchen and laundry.

The home is NOT handicap accessible and can support both adults and children as it is dually licensed. The upper level currently supports one younger male, age 20. This male is fully ambulatory and capable of being independent with all ADL's. Current diagnosis is Autism, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Combined type, and Moderate ID.
The person being supported in the upper level has a history of maladaptive behaviors which include; physical aggression, verbal aggression, property destruction, attempting to bite/kiss or lick others, aggression to self, running from caregivers and engaging in behaviors of an obsessive nature. This individual has 1:1 awake staffing throughout the awake hours and over night hours.
Medication is administered by trained staff.

Community Based Services - MSOCS is a Safety Net Provider. Prior to referring an individual to CBS/MSOCS, it is expected that all individuals being considered for admission have reviewed and been turned down for alternative support and/or placement options through private community providers. All individuals being referred must meet Safety Net Criteria.
