The house is at grade level and is wheelchair accessible, and we have an accessible van. There is a roll-in shower in one bathroom, and a regular tub in the other.
We have capacity for 6 clients - two of the bedrooms are shared, and two are singles.
One of the open rooms is shared with a male, the other with a female. The man is a gentle person who keeps mostly to himself, and doesn't say much, although he does like to talk about his favorite beverage, coffee! He doesn't typically hang out in the bedroom, so if the new candidate likes alone-time it wouldn't be hard. The female loves to look at children's books and color in coloring books. While she vocalizes, its not loud.
Nursing Support:
On Call
Additional Notes and Information:
This is a positive household! The house has a living room and a family room, and the residents tend to gravitate to one of those rooms depending on their interests, or hang out in the kitchen and dining room where all the activity is happening. There's a lot of chatter in the house, so we need someone who likes activity and socialization. One person is non-verbal, and two have limited words. The others are more talkative. They tend to talk mostly about their own interests, and prefer the staff's attention more than each other. They enjoy coloring, drawing and books, one enjoys stuffed animals, a they all love real animals. The live-in supervisor has a dog who is a favorite visitor. Most of them help to either pack their lunch, or unpack it when they get home from day program. They all like fresh cookies, and will either help make them, or just hang out until they're ready to enjoy.
Challenging Behaviors:
Additional Notes and Information:
The only behavioral issues in the house are some anxiety, and the occasional loud voice. We could not accommodate someone with aggressive behaviors or mental health issues.
Typical Staffing Pattern: 1:3
