Additional Notes and Information:
We have a current opening available to accept immediate placement at Our House - Dayton. If you or someone you know are in need of a placement and would like the level of care and supervision offed in an ICF (Intermediate Care Facility) please consider our opening and contact us with any questions you may have. Our House has been in operation since 1975 and has a long history of providing quality care to individuals with development and intellectual disabilities. We are a nonprofit organization and many family members serve on our Board of Directors. We are committed to offering the opportunity for Our House to become a consumer's home for life. We are still serving two of the original consumers admitted when we opened our doors. This opening is in a Class A facility (meaning it is not barrier free). Although this may not be a good fit for everyone, we have found that our consumers have retained their strength and stamina as they have aged and believe it may be in part due to the opportunity for regular exercise they experience by climbing some stairs. Most of the people who live here have been here for many years and take pride in calling this home "Our House". The home is a beautiful Victorian Home in an upscale neighborhood near Macalester and St. Thomas Colleges in St. Paul. We serve a total of six consumers and we are committed to serving consumers who want to remain actively involved in their community. It is our goal to offer a predictable, pleasant and stable environment. We believe that there are many individuals who have lived at home with their family or semi-independently in their community who can benefit from our services as their needs change due to the age/ abilities of their care givers or as their own abilities begin to decline. We encourage family involvement including regular contacts, visits and support. We offer the level of supervision many families desire for their loved ones (1 staff to 3 consumers) when family members are no longer able to continue to provide care and supervision for their loved ones themselves. Consumers are regularly involved in community activities and also attend a day program M-F approx. 8:30am to 2:30pm. If you are interested in learning, more about our current opening or would simply like to visit, we encourage day time or overnight visits to see if Our House might be a good fit for you or someone you know. Please feel free to contact us at 651-646-1104.
